From 20 to 22 October 2026, the SymbioTech partnership gathered at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, for the project’s Knowledge Camp for Trainers. The three-day event marked an important step in the transition from the development of SymbioTech training resources and digital tools towards their practical testing and implementation during the upcoming pilot phase.
The Knowledge Camp brought together representatives of the project partners and external experts who will act as trainers during the national pilot activities. Its main purpose was to ensure that future trainers are familiar with the training content, methodologies and tools developed within the project and are prepared to apply them consistently in different national and workplace contexts.
During the Camp, participants explored the project’s seven training modules, covering industrial symbiosis, Life Cycle Assessment, inter-organisational relations, artificial intelligence and machine learning, blockchain technologies, energy management, and Environmental Management Systems. The programme also introduced the SymbioTech AI-Assisted Platform and the SymbioEnergy Tool.
A strong focus was placed on practical learning. Through exercises, case-based work and discussions, participants explored how the training content can be applied in real training and workplace contexts.
The Knowledge Camp also prepared the partnership for the next major stage of the project – the pilot implementation of the SymbioTech training programme. Particular attention was given to the upcoming Work-Based Learning (WBL) activities, which will involve participating companies and allow learners to apply the developed knowledge and tools in real workplace environments.
The pilot phase will help test the relevance, usability and practical value of the SymbioTech training resources and digital tools. Feedback from trainers, learners and companies will support their further refinement.
The Knowledge Camp also provided an important opportunity for exchange and coordination across the partnership, helping partners align their approaches and next steps before the start of the pilot activities.
With the training of trainers completed, SymbioTech is now moving closer to putting its learning resources and digital solutions into practice.
